Recently, I got off the phone with Deb Kearney of Woven Materials, and I could just kick myself for not calling her sooner! I have a trim book here from another trim supplier, and I've ordered LOTS of trim out of it for customers over the past 18 months. I always ordered from the company that I got the book from, but today I happened to think of Deb, who has helped me out many times with matching trims to fabrics, or coming up with some obscure item I was having trouble locating. I gave her a call to see if she carried the trims I was interested in and to compare pricing. On the large tassel tiebacks, her price was 32% less than the other supplier! On the rosettes, her price was 42% less! On the organdy loop fringe, her price was a whopping 45% less than what I've been paying ($13.00 versus $24.00 wholesale.) And those prices didn’t include the extra WAA discount! Those are tremendous prices, and I'm so sorry I didn't think to ask her about these particular trims earlier. I could have saved my customers so much money. And when I save them money on one part of a job, it seems like they usually feel justified in adding on something extra, so they end up spending the same amount of money with me, but they get more bang for their buck. I learned my lesson - I'll always check with Woven Materials before I routinely order trim from another company. No, this is not a paid endorsement. Leslie Fehling, Leslie Fehling Designs “I want to share an experience I had recently. A new sales rep came by and left me some fabric books and was also excited about showing me some trim books. However, I had to leave for a consult and we didn't get to them. I could sense his disappoint. I had recently purchased some trim sample books from St. Charles Trim Co. and was happy with what I had. I figured that would be the end of it. But being the good rep that he was he came by a few days later to bring by the trim books. As he pulled them out he told of his company’s great pricing. I recognized that I had some of the same ones so I got them out. He wanted to compare pricing to show me how much lower their pricing would be. He was totally confident that he would beat the pricing I was getting. So as he checked pricing I could see it was not going his way. First he checked a tassel fringe and was shocked by the price. Next the brush fringe and the same thing. So he said that the tassels would really show up the true pricing. Same thing again. St. Charles Trim was quite a bit lower. He said he didn't know how they did it as his company was closer than anyone to the mills. Thank you St. Charles Trim Co. for the value pricing for WAA members! Vickie “Mary Ann.
