Online Discussion Group

Recent topics of discussion have included a lively debate about standards in our industry.

Following our forum rule, 1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...the debate, though lively was cordial at all times.

We learned that applying standards to the names of treatments in our industry is vastly different than applying standard ways of making custom treatments.

In my own shop of 12 employees, we vary our methods of construction within our shop based on who is doing the work. We all seem to do things a little differently while still maintaining acceptable standards of quality.

Often we hear workroom owners say that they vary how they do things from one day to the next. As we strive to improve always...it's natural to try new methods of fabrication.

Members are also excited about the Eastern Design and Workroom Conference in Springfield Mass Sept 25-28.

These conferences hosted by Drapery and Window Coverings Magazine are a wonderful time of sharing and learning new ways to improve our businesses. We hope to see you there. Go to www.dwconline.com to register today.
